Ingenuously build RLV-TD launched successfully by ISRO

ISRO launched RLV-TD(Reusable Launch Vehicle-Technological Demonstrator) from Sriharikota on Monday.

HS9 rocket boosters are used for lift off which successfully burn for 91.1 seconds. It is burned out and separated from RLV-TD at a altitude of 56 Km and further ascended to a height of 65 Km.RLV-TD began its descent from 65 Km at Mach 5 which eventually successfully glided down to the defined spot in Bay of Bengal.

Total flight duration from Lift off to landing of the delta winged RLV-TS lasted for 770 seconds

This technology will help cut launch cost substantially and is the first step toward mastering the reusable launch vehicle technology developed by Vikram Sarabhai Space Center(VSSC) at the cost of Rs. 95 crore.

Critical technologies such as autonomous navigation, guidance and control, reusable thermal protection system and re-entry mission management is successfully tested.
